From tigers, meerkats and snakes, to horses, dogs and tortoises, staff at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ are using animals to help pupils build their self-confidence and manage their behaviour in the classroom. Research has shown that using animals in a therapeutic way can help reduce stress and anxiety for pupils, as well as increasing their confidence and motivation for learning. This can then lead to improved school attendance and enhanced relationships with fellow pupils and teachers.

Attached is a guide for leaders in alternative provision (AP) which has been written by a number of us who lead trusts, provisions and networks across the country. We hoped it might be useful to share it with our networks at this challenging time. Please feel free to share with any colleagues if you think they might find it helpful.

A new long-term partnership between Together for Families, part of Cornwall Council, and the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Trust has been established to support Cornwall’s children and schools.

Staff at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Trust’s academies in Cornwall and Devon are rightly proud of the artistic achievements of their pupils. Last year talented young artist Tegan Rowe won first prize for her age group in the prestigious Young Art Cornwall competition, with artwork produced by pupils from the Shoreline Academy in Barnstaple winning first prize in the Young Art Devon competition in February. Now two ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ academies in Cornwall are taking part in an exciting new programme being led by the Crafts Council.
