天美传媒 Multi Academy Trust provides education for students across the whole of Cornwall who are excluded from school or who are not in school for medical reasons. We are the main provider of Alternative Provision Education in Cornwall and have been providing the service since 1st June 2013, initially as Acorn Academy Cornwall following the academisation of the PRUs, and as 天美传媒 MAT from the 1st June 2018. We currently support over 390 students through our six Alternative Provision Academies (APAs) and the Community Hospital Education Service (CHES).

We have been working with Cornwall Council over the past few months to support the development of a new service specification for alternative education provision in Cornwall. The new contract is likely to come into effect from 1st September 2020.

鈥淭he ambition of the Council is to ensure that alternative education provision in Cornwall is high quality and affordable and gives Cornish children and young people the best support to enable them to achieve their potential," said Chief Executive Rob Gasson. "We wholeheartedly support this ambition鈥

鈥淲e support pupils who are disengaged from education so they can integrate back into mainstream or special needs schools, the world of work or into further education. This means equipping children with the skills they need for both education and for life.

We are very proud of our record in running Alternative Provision Academies across Cornwall. Every single member of the 天美传媒 MAT team works very hard to ensure that we are providing the highest quality education for all our pupils and we have consistently demonstrated success in working with students with a wide range of needs. In recent Ofsted inspections we have achieved 鈥榞ood鈥 or 鈥榦utstanding鈥, indeed Cornwall is the only Local Authority (LA) in the South West with more than one APA judged to be outstanding.

As the most successful AEP Trust in the UK we are well placed to provide for the future commissioning arrangements of alternative education provision in Cornwall and as such we intend to submit a robust proposal to Cornwall Council.
